Accountancy Firm of the Year · South England Prestige Awards 2025/26
Straight answers.
For businesses at every stage.
Chartered accountants and tax advisors on Hayling Island, looking after founders, families and companies across Hampshire and beyond.
Most firms will tell you what the rules are. Fewer will tell you what to do about them.
We are a small, friendly firm and we have stayed that way on purpose. You deal with the same handful of people, they know your name and your numbers, and advice arrives in plain English rather than in a covering letter.
For any new company, sole trader business, partnership or LLP, we take a hands-on approach: everything from setting up the business through to your tax affairs and whatever else the business throws at you.
What we do
Six things, done properly.
Regulated, and fluent in the ledgers you already use
Our story
Looking after this community since 1982.
Chris Driscoll started the practice from home on Hayling Island in 1982, with his wife Angie doing the secretarial work and one habit that has outlasted everything else: know the client well enough to give them a straight answer. Staff followed within the year, the office at 19 Mengham Lane followed in 1984, and a good many of the businesses that signed up back then are still with us.
Those clients are the reason the firm looks the way it does. Local trades, shops, surgeries and families first, then companies right across Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey and London as they grew and moved and recommended us on.
In March 2025 Rizwan Khan joined forces with CJ Driscoll, bringing his own practice, RK Partners, in with him. That means a larger team, registered auditors in house, and deeper specialisms in tax. What it has not changed is the way we work, which is the part clients actually stayed for.
In 2025/26 we were named Accountancy Firm of the Year by the South England Prestige Awards. Nice to have. The clients who put us there matter more.

Rather a long way back
Forty-odd years on the same island.
The Hayling Islander gave the practice a double-page spread for its twenty-fifth birthday. Half of it is taken up by local businesses sending congratulations, which tells you more about how the firm works than anything we could write here.
It still hangs in the office. Nearly twenty years on, several of the names in those adverts are still clients.

How we work
No surprises, in either direction.
We start with a conversation
Free, unhurried, and with nothing to sign at the end of it. We want to understand what the business actually does and what is keeping you up. The numbers come after that.
We put the structure in place
Setting up the business, then setting up your systems. Registrations, records, deadlines and software that actually suits you. You will know what to keep, when things are due, and what each of them costs if missed.
We answer the phone
Deadlines tracked before they arrive, and a call when something in the rules changes that affects you specifically. Ask a question and you get an answer, promptly, rather than a reference number and a wait.
- The first conversation is free
- Come in, tell us what the business does, and leave with a view on what it needs. There is nothing to sign at the end of it.
- The quote is the fee
- Agree a price and that is what you pay, unless the job itself changes. Short questions and phone calls are not billed at all.
- You get a quick answer
- Ring or email with a question and you will usually hear back the same day, often within the hour. Nothing sits in a queue for a week.
Come and have a conversation.
The first one is free and there is nothing to sign. Call us, or send a note and we will get back to you.
