Looking after this community since 1982.
Chris Driscoll started the practice from his own front room in 1982. Four decades on it looks after families and businesses across Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and London, and still works the same way it did in the first week.
The practice opened on 1 June 1982, run out of Chris Driscoll’s home at Mulberry Cottage with his wife Angie handling the secretarial side. Word travelled quickly on an island that size. Staff were needed within eighteen months, and by 1984 the firm had taken over the old doctors’ surgery at 19 Mengham Lane, which is still the office today.
Being in the middle of the village rather than on a business park turned out to matter. Clients call in on the way past, drop paperwork through the door, and ask the question they were going to email about next week. That is not a policy. It is just what happens when your accountant is three minutes from the shops.
We have stayed a small, friendly firm deliberately. You deal with the same few people, they know your business, and you get a straight answer rather than a referral to a department.
Rather a long way back
Twenty-five years, and half the island sent congratulations.
Where we are now
A larger team, working the same way.
In March 2025 Rizwan Khan joined forces with CJ Driscoll, bringing his own practice, RK Partners, in with him. Between the two there are now registered auditors in house, a deeper tax bench, and enough capacity to take on the complicated jobs without the wait.
The reach widened too. What began as an island practice now looks after clients across Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey and London, in company accounts, audit, tax, payroll and everything in between.
None of that touched the method. Same office, same people answering the phone, same habit of telling you what to do rather than what the rule says.
In 2025/26 the firm was named Accountancy Firm of the Year by the South England Prestige Awards.

- Agree a price and that is what you pay, unless the job itself changes. Short questions and phone calls are not billed at all.

- Ring or email with a question and you will usually hear back the same day, often within the hour. Nothing sits in a queue for a week.
